Room 205
This is renovation of housing unit for a couple, with floor area of 50 square meter.
Water section is located within permissible range of the existing plumbing layout.  Then we took away all other walls and made this L-shaped studio.  The shape “L” created certain sense of distance at both ends. We wanted a sort of half- finished, half- naked sort of atmosphere in this place, so we applied only very minimum finishes.
Moving tatami platform, which is two tatami-size, is used to layout futon and sleep there at night, or can be used as cozy rest area at parties in the living room.
※tatami is traditional Japanese floor finish made from dried rushes.
